Project Spotlight - Harbour Life Charters
Recently I visited Sydney. Part of my trip was to help out Ash and Dave by taking photos and creating content for their business, Harbour Life Charters. Harbour Life Charters operates out of Sydney Harbour on board the John Oxley. I know, tough gig right?! The John Oxley is an 80ft luxury boat that can accomodate 51 people, including crew. The boat is available for hire for anyone wanting to host an event or party with a twist. Dave is the Captain and Ash does the organising, booking, and is usually the Chief Stewardess on most charters too.
I have worked for Ash and Dave before on their logo and other bits and pieces. They wanted me on board to take photos over a weekend, so off I totted. The Friday night was a farewell party and the Saturday was an daytime party coordinated by a group of friends for fun in the sun (even though it was equal parts sun and rain). On Friday the party was a 3 hour charter with drinking, loud music, lots of dancing and party lights! There were about 40 attendees and they farewelled their friend in style! On Saturday, the tone was a bit more relaxed, there were about 35 people on board, a DJ on the deck, yummy nibbles and cocktails were flowing. Both parties were quite different but provided equal opportunities to take some great shots of the boat.
Ash has a sales and marketing background and they have a good strategy however, their biggest complaint about their current images is they don’t show how big the boat is. After being on the boat for these two parties, I can confirm that it is hard to show how big the boat is but it’s also tricky to communicate via photos how good the vibe is onboard! I bought myself a 10-18mm lens for my camera to tackle this project, I love the wide angle lens.
Sydney people, if you’re interested in booking a party, event, day cruise with friends or Christmas function on board the John Oxley, get in touch with Ash from Harbour Life Charters. She’s also running YOGA aFLOat in January, which I have designed flyers for (limited spaces available).
Here are some of the images I took of and from the boat. Thank you so much to Ash and Dave for having me on board. If you would like to contact me for any design work or content creation, please email me at email@example.com I would love to discuss with you how I can help your business. Until next time, Cheyney xxx
